Barra de Santiago is one of the 8 places designated as Wetlands on International Importance (Ramsar Site), surrounded by important plants such as the mangroves, this area is considered one of the richest places in the country when it comes to see the endangered species like the blue crabs , shrimp, shells, crocodiles, alligators and various specimens of shorebirds and waterfowl.
We will go around the mangroves by boat and you will be able to enjoy from very close all the wildlife around, for example, the bird’s sanctuaries, the alligators in their natural habitat and more.
